OFFENDED DEFINED: To stop believing the Word of God and obey the emotions!
- Offense is found 73 times in the Word of God!
- There are two types of offenses:
1. A strong temptation to sin through others sin, including trapping (Matt. 18:6-8)
2. Emotions lured to leave THE WORD of God! I Corinthians 13:11(Selfish)
- An example of a fan unplugged Off – ends the flow electricity.
I. HAVING A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP W/GOD IS KEY TO OFFENSE!
A. Meditating on the Word (Joshua 1:8), grows roots, BLOCKS OFFENSE!
B. Psalms 119:165 (49, 50, 63)/Proverbs 18:19/James 1:19 (Eph. 4:31)
II. LOVE STEPS TO TAKE TO STAY IN LOVE
A. Matthew 18:15-17, If you have an issue go to the person and them alone!
B. Matthew 5:22-24, If you KNOW that someone has an issue w/you go!
III. MANY CALL THIS CHURCH HURT, BUT JESUS CALLS IT: UNFORGIVENESS (I agree w/Jesus)
A. Mark 11:25, 26, You must forgive to be forgiven!
B. Being Offended for a second is the most dangerous place in the world.
C. John 8:30, 31, 36 We Must Believe!
D. Hebrews 4:1-12, Learn from their example! Stay out of unbelief, eternal consequences can occur.
E. Revelations 21:7, 8: Dangerous consequences!
